Memories of Angela Smith

She was precious and pure and full of love

“Greater love hath no man than this, than a man lay down his life for his friends.” I believe that this verse describes Angela very well. She had great love, and followed Christ's example, by living out her life in service to others, even to her own hurt. To the very end she sacrificed to help others and show them the Lord's love. When I think of her life, I think of her as a very bright candle, drawing others to God, burning at both ends for the Lord.

She was precious and pure and full of love, and I'm happy for her that now she'll be closer to the Lord than ever, the One she loved the most, in a totally pure and beautiful place, the best place for her, where she'll be much happier.

I think of this passage from a hymn when I think of her now:

There is a place of quiet rest,
Near to the heart of God.
A place where fear cannot molest,
Near to the heart of God.
O Jesus, blest Redeemer,
Sent from the heart of God,
Hold us who wait before Thee,
Near to the heart of God.
