Angela Smith (51) passed away January 8, 2005, while visiting in Tucson, Arizona. Born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Virginia, Angela graduated at Edison H.S., Fairfax Co. She served as an inter-denominational Christian missionary for more than 30 years on nearly every continent, most recently in Mexico. She retired from missionary life in 2004 and settled in Palo Alto.
The Lord's spark lighted Angela's spirit which, in turn, illuminated the heart of everyone she met. No one who met her will forget her. Angela's humble eagerness to give an encouraging word to a stranger in any of the many languages she spoke, is just one way she reflected His love on Earth in her every action.
Angela is survived by her mother Joey K.; brother John, Jr. and sister-in-law, Tina; nieces Chrissy and Jennifer of the Winchester and Arlington, VA, area; her aunt and cousins in the San Jose, CA, area; and her partner, David, of Palo Alto, CA. Her father, John Sr., passed away last year.
